Why It Works

Why Mediterranean Food Wins on Game Day

Wings and pizza are fine. Shawarma, falafel, and a full dip station are better. Here is why Northern Virginia watch parties keep coming back to Taza.

Shareable Platters, No Fuss

Shawarma platters, falafel trays, and mezze spreads are built for communal eating. Set them on the coffee table and let guests grab what they want. No plating, no portioning, no standing at the grill.

Feeds Mixed Crowds

Every group has someone who does not eat pork, someone who is vegetarian, and someone watching what they eat. Our menu handles all of it from a single order: halal proteins, falafel, hummus, and salads.

100% Halal, Every Item

Everything on our catering menu is fully halal. No substitutions, no exceptions. Order for a group and every guest eats without concern.

Finger Food Done Right

Pita pockets, meat pies, falafel bites, and shrak wraps are all designed to be eaten while standing, cheering, and watching the game. Napkins required. Plates optional.

Open Until Midnight

Late kickoffs, overtime, and post-game orders are all covered. Taza is open until midnight every day of the week. Order during halftime and pick up before the final whistle.

Better Value Than Wings

A full shawarma platter that feeds 12 to 15 guests costs less per head than ordering wings or pizza for the same crowd. More food, more variety, better value.

The Menu

What to Order for Game Day

Every item on this list is designed to be eaten while standing, cheering, and passing food around a crowded room.

Shawarma Pita Sliders — from $9.95

Chicken or beef shawarma sliced fresh from the rotisserie and packed into warm pita pockets with garlic sauce, pickled turnips, and fresh vegetables. The most requested item at every watch party we cater. Order a mix of chicken and beef to cover everyone.

Falafel Bites — from $8.95

Crispy, herb-packed falafel fried to order. Served with tahini dipping sauce and extra pita on the side. A crowd-pleaser that disappears fast. Vegetarians and meat eaters alike reach for them first.

Hummus Dip Station — $4.95

House-made hummus served in a large catering portion with warm pita bread for dipping, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dusting of paprika. Pair it with baba ghanouj and labneh for a full dip station that anchors the spread.

Meat Pies (Sfiha) — $2.95

Hand-formed Levantine meat pies filled with spiced ground beef, baked until golden. Compact, portable, and exactly the kind of thing that gets passed around the room during a play. Order by the dozen for a large party.

Pita Chips & Dip Tray

Fresh-baked pita cut into chips and served warm alongside our full dip lineup: hummus, baba ghanouj, and labneh with za'atar. The chip-and-dip format works perfectly for snacking throughout a long game.

Shrak Wrap Bar

Thin, chewy shrak flatbread wrapped around your choice of shawarma or falafel with the full toppings bar. Build-your-own format keeps the crowd engaged and every guest happy. Great for halftime stations.

Build the Full Dip Station

The most effective game day setup pairs three dips side by side with a stack of warm pita. Every guest finds something they want, and the spread stays full throughout the game.

Hummus

The foundation. House-made from dried chickpeas, tahini, lemon, and garlic. Serve with olive oil and paprika on top.

Baba Ghanouj

Fire-roasted eggplant blended with tahini and lemon. Smoky, creamy, and a perfect contrast to the hummus.

Labneh

Strained yogurt with za'atar and olive oil. Tangy and light — the third dip that keeps guests coming back to the table.

Ordering Tips

Super Bowl & Football Season Catering Tips

How to get your game day order right every time — from early-season watch parties through championship weekend.

Order During Pregame, Not Halftime

Halftime is when everyone orders food at the same time. Place your order during pregame or at the start of the first quarter. Pickup is faster, food arrives hotter, and you are not scrambling when the second half starts.

Late Games Are Covered

Sunday and Thursday night games run late. Taza is open until midnight seven days a week. A 10 PM pickup for a late kickoff is completely doable. Call ahead and we will have everything ready.

Super Bowl Sunday: Order Saturday

Super Bowl Sunday is one of the busiest food days of the year. For a game day catering order above 20 guests, place your order on Saturday. We prioritize pre-orders and guarantee your food is ready on time.

Mix Proteins, Not Menus

The best game day spread has one rule: cover all the proteins. Order both chicken and beef shawarma, add falafel, and put out a full dip station. Your guests will graze all game long without running out.

What Customers Say About Game Day Orders

"We ordered for the Super Bowl — about 22 people. Two shawarma platters, falafel, hummus, the whole spread. Everyone was eating from the first snap to the last play. Best decision we made."

Omar T.

Super Bowl Party, Annandale

"The meat pies were the sleeper hit. I ordered them as a side thought and they were gone in 10 minutes. Next game day order I am doubling the quantity."

Jessica W.

Watch Party, Fairfax

"We have done pizza and wings for years. Switched to Taza last season and nobody wants to go back. The hummus dip station alone is worth it. And they are open late which is huge."

FAQ

Game Day Catering — Frequently Asked Questions

For orders feeding under 20 guests, same-day orders placed at least 1–2 hours ahead work fine. For 25 guests and above, we recommend calling the day before. Super Bowl Sunday orders for large groups should be placed Saturday to guarantee your spot.

Pickup is always available at our Falls Church location at 5820 Seminary Rd. For delivery, call us at (703) 340-1014 to discuss options for your area and event size. Many customers pick up and transport easily — our packaging is built for it.

The chicken shawarma platter is our most popular game day item. It feeds 12–15 guests, comes with pita pockets, garlic sauce, tahini, pickled turnips, and fresh vegetables. Add a hummus dip station and you have a complete spread.

Yes. The falafel tray, hummus, baba ghanouj, labneh, pita chips, and Arabic salad are all vegetarian. We can build an entirely plant-based spread for groups with no meat eaters, or mix vegetarian trays into a larger order.

Yes. Every item at Taza is 100% halal. All chicken and beef is sourced from halal-certified suppliers. There are no pork products on our menu. This is a firm policy — not a special request.

Yes. Taza is open every day from 11 AM to midnight. Sunday and Thursday night games are covered. For the Super Bowl, we recommend calling ahead to place your order the day before for any catering order above 20 guests.

For a group of 20–25, we recommend: one chicken shawarma platter, one beef shawarma platter, one falafel tray, a large hummus dip station, and a half-dozen meat pies. That combination gives guests proteins, vegetarian options, finger food, and a dip station.

Per head, Taza catering costs less than comparable wing orders while covering more dietary needs. Our food is cooked to order on the day you pick up — not pre-made or reheated. You also get far more variety: proteins, dips, bread, salads, and pastries from a single order.
